Online Learning through the Extended Learning Institute (ELI) provides students with the opportunity to take the same classes offered on campus but in a different format. Many ELI courses may be completed at home, while stationed abroad, or on the road, if traveling. The orientation modules below will help you prepare for a successful term.
Webinars are a great way to interact with ELI staff and see some of the many online tools you'll use as an ELI student. The ELI Orientation is a general overview for students enrolled in courses offered through the Extended Learning Institute. This one hour webinar will focus on getting started in your courses, navigating your Blackboard course site, and identifying tips for success and student support services. The ELI Orientation is highly recommended for students who are new to online learning.
Are you a first-time-to-college student, age 17-24? Are you planning to take your classes completely online with ELI? You need to Start Strong at NOVA. The required New Student Orientation will help you prepare your academic plan, identify your academic and career goals, and register for your classes.
This sample course is a typical online course. We encourage you to login to the course, and see if the online experience is for you.
Be sure to review the Important Dates for this semester to prevent automatic withdrawal from your class.
